SCIFODE organized a seeing-is-believing tour for staff of the Government owned Media Center.  Seeing-is-believing tours opened eyes of those who participated to realize that Transgenic crops are the usual crops they see in their fields without any noticeable differences.

Highlights


This is one of SCIFODE’s key programs that involves taking a particular group of people to go and see how a given technology is/has been developed, how it works and how it is being applied to address current challenges especially in Agriculture. It also involves taking those who are not familiar with the problem to where the problem exists. In 2015, SCIFODE focused more on the MPs and journalists. Members of Parliament visited various research facilities in Uganda.

Seeing-is-believing tours opened eyes of those who participated to realize that Transgenic crops are the usual crops they see in their fields without any noticeable differences. The media reported everytime there was a tour and these led to more awareness.
